Probabilistic Proof Systems Lecture Notes
نویسنده
چکیده
Various types of probabilistic proof systems have played a central role in the development of computer science in the last decade. In these notes, we concentrate on three such proof systems | interactive proofs, zero-knowledge proofs, and probabilistic checkable proofs. Remark: These are lecture notes in the strict sense of the word. Surveys of mine on this subject can be obtained from URL http://theory.lcs.mit.edu/~oded/pps.html. These notes were prepared for a series of lectures given in the Theory Student Seminar of the CS Department of UC-Berkeley. Visiting Miller Professor, Aug. { Sept. 1996, EECS Dept., UC{Berkeley.

Lecture Notes on Virtual Substitution & Real Arithmetic
Reasoning about cyber-physical systems and hybrid systems requires understanding and handling their real arithmetic, which can be challenging, because cyber-physical systems can have complex behavior. Differential dynamic logic and its proof calculus [Pla08, Pla10, Pla12] reduce the verification of hybrid systems to real arithmetic. How arithmetic interfaces with proofs has already been discuss...
متن کاملAdaptive Data Analysis
These lecture notes are based on [BNS+16] and were compiled for a guest lecture in the course CS229r “Information Theory in Computer Science” taught by Madhu Sudan at Harvard University in Spring 2016. Menu for today’s lecture: • Motivation • Model • Overfitting & comparison to non-adaptive data analysis • What can we do adaptively? • KL Divergence recap • Proof • Differential privacy (time per...
متن کاملLecture Notes on Differential Equations & Proofs
Lecture 10 on Differential Equations & Differential Invariants introduced equational differential invariants of the form e = 0 for differential equations that are much more general than the ones supported by axiom [′] from Lecture 5 on Dynamical Systems & Dynamic Axioms. Axiom [′] replaces properties of differential equations with universally quantified properties of solutions, but is limited t...
متن کاملThe Probabilistic Method
In this lecture, we will study some basic principles of the probabilistic method, a combinatorial tool with many applications in computer science. This method is a powerful tool for demonstrating the existence of combinatorial objects. We introduce the basic idea through several examples drawn from early lecture notes, and follow that by a detailed study of the maximum satisfiability (MAX-SAT) ...
متن کاملFactors affecting students tendency of Univercity students to Lecture Notes
Introduction: Many studies detected factors contributing to the students’ tendency to lecture notes. This study aimed at evaluating the factors affecting students tendency to lecture notes in Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this descriptive study, 179 students from medicine, nursing & midwifery, health, and Paramedicine schools were selected through stratified random...
